Mystery Crochet-Along #1


Pattern for Mystery Crochet-Along #1


You will need:
  • 1xskein main colour (A) Araucania “Puelo” Dk (100g, approx 220m)
  • 1xball colour (B) contrast colour Bergere de France "Berlaine" 50g 
  • 5mm crochet hook
  • 2m ribbon in complementary colour
  • tapestry needle
  • Needle and sewing thread to match ribbon
To begin:
Using col A and 5mm hook, ch136, turn.
Row 1: 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, *ch 3, sk 3ch, (1tr, ch 5, 1tr) into next ch, ch 3, sk 3ch, 2dc, rep from * to last 8ch, ch 3, sk 3ch, (1tr, ch 5, 1tr) into next ch, ch 3, sk 3 ch, 1dc into last ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, *3htr into next 3-ch sp, 1tr into tr, 6tr into next 5-ch sp, 1 tr into tr, 3htr into next 3-ch sp, sk 2dc, rep from * to end but work 1dc into last stitch (instead of sk 2dc), turn.

Row 3: Ch 4, sk 3htr, *1tr into next tr, ch 4, sk 2tr, 1dc into each of next 2tr, ch4, sk2tr, 1tr into next tr, sk 6htr; rep from * to end, but finish with sk 3htr, 1dtr into the 1-ch, turn.

Row 4: Ch 5, 1tr into next tr, *ch 3, 1dc into each of next 2dc, ch 3, (1tr, ch 5, 1tr) into next tr, rep from * to end but finish with (1tr, ch2, 1tr) into top of 4-ch, turn.

Row 5: Ch 3, 2tr into 2-ch sp, *1tr into next tr, 3hrt into next 3-ch sp, sk 2dc, 3htr into next 3-ch sp, 1tr into tr, 6tr into next 5-ch sp; rep from * to end but finish with 2tr into next last ch sp, 1tr into 3rd of 5-ch, turn.

Row 6: Ch 1, 1dc into first tr, ch 4, sk 2tr, 1tr into next tr, *sk 6htr, 1tr into next tr, ch 4, sk 2tr, 1dc into each of next 2tr, ch 4, sk 2tr, 1tr into next tr, rep from * to end, finishing with sk 6hrt, 1tr into next tr, ch 4, sk 2tr, 1dc into top of 3-ch, turn.

Row 7: 1dc into first dc, *ch 3, (1tr, 5 ch, 1tr) into next tr, 3 ch, 1dc into each of next 2dc, rep from * to end, finishing with 1dc into last dc, turn.

Next: Repeat rows 2-6, fasten off.

Next row: Join in col. B and work one row 7, turn.
Next row: Work one row 2, fasten off.

Making up: Thread ribbon in and out of the gaps on the first row.  Thread a needle with matching sewing thread, gather slightly and secure the ribbon with a few stitches.  Tie the ribbon together at front with a bow to secure.

Finished measurements approx 110cm on cast on edge.
